Mental Health Week 2020

« Return to News

5th Feb 2020

This year’s theme is Find Your Brave.

Is your school taking part in this year’s Mental health week for schools from Feb 3rd to 9th , led by A Place2Be?
Schools are being encouraged to take part in the Inside Out Day which is designed to help children realise that just because someone looks like they are healthy and happy on the outside, that they could be experiencing mental health difficulties on the inside. Getting involved is simple, as children and teachers are encouraged to wear an item of clothing inside out on the 6th February all day to raise awareness.

During this week why not set a time aside to have a discussion with your class to find out what makes them feel brave? It could be something as simple as trying something new such as a unusual type of food or taking part in a new activity such as hoola hooping, or perhaps its being brave enough to share with someone else something that is worrying you.

To help you organise some activities during mental health week download the folder produced by Place2Be to give you some ideas.

If you would like some support to develop good mental health in your school then take a look at the courses and workshops on offer from Education Guru. Any courses booked for March or April will receive £100 off the full day price. Click on the link to look at whats on offer.
