World Book Club Day 2020 Competition

« Return to News

2nd Mar 2020

On the 5th March children will dress up as their favourite characters from books to celebrate this annual charity event to encourage children to read. About 15 million book tokens are sent out across the UK which can be swapped for a book to make sure every child has a book of their own.

At Education Guru we love to use stories and poems to add creativity to science lessons, which is why we wrote the Stories and Poem pack to support each year group. Using a story for each science topic you teach, can really engage children and help them make the links between the science they are taught and the world they live in.

We did the hard work for you by choosing a story to match and then wrote lesson plans to get you started. To celebrate World Book Club Day, we are giving away, one year group pack to one lucky teacher.

To enter, let us know which is your favourite story to use in a science lesson and why. Then email us with your name and which school you teach in and the year group you would like the pack for.

One lucky winner will be pulled from a hat and the pack will be sent as a download. These packs can also be bought per year group, by Key stage or as a Whole School pack from the Lesson Materials section of the website. Click on the link to see a sample or buy a pack.

The winner will be picked on the 4th March so that you can use the lesson on the 5th. To be in with a chance of winning email your favourite story and details by noon on the 4th march 2020.   Email
