One way to increase science capital in primary schools is to include a scientist, inventor, or explorer in each topic you teach. This has the bonus of helping the children relate the science they are learning to the impact it has on the world they live in.

An excellent free resource that can help you link your topic to a STEM career has been created by NUSTEM based at Northumbria University. To take a look at the resource click on the link.

If this is something you are looking to develop in your science lessons then you may also be interested in Education Guru's course Pioneers of exploration and invention please get in touch if you are interested in finding out more.
