10. Calculating Science

Kids love the practical, hands-on nature of science and being able to relate it to the world around them. There`s also no doubt that science and maths go hand in hand, so why not harness the enthusiasm and curiosity generated by science and use it to teach core mathematical skills? This course will give you the skills to do this in the classroom in a fun, practical, and stimulating way. You will come away with lots of ideas and activities that will enable you to teach mathematical skills in a science context. We will show you how to plan lessons in which children handle and present data. We will also look at how you can track and assess children`s progression in mathematics through science.
