Engaging Science in Year 1

Join us for our online course for Engaging Science in Year 1 on 23rd April between 1.30 to 3.30. This professional development experience outlines common misconceptions related to the content of the science curriculum for Year 1. Methods for elicitation of pupils' initial ideas are shared and strategies for reconstructing thinking around misconceptions are suggested to help participants design science lessons that engage their pupils and provide targeted progression.


Outcomes

o   Describe how the KS1 science curriculum might engage developing scientists.

o   Identify common misconceptions Year One students may hold.

o   Consider a range of strategies for reconstructing misconceptions
