Mammoth Project

Scientists have raised 11 million dollars to bring the woolly mammoth back to life using DNA recovered from fossils. The Colossal project is based in the USA and they hope to produce the first set of calves by 2028. This is a great discussion starter for Year 6 Evolution & Inheritance topic linked to;

  • Recognise that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago

  • Recognise that living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents.
