Today is National Poetry Day - an event that takes place annually on the first Thursday of October every year. The day encourages people to enjoy, discover, and share poetry through events, readings, and performances. The theme for this years Poetry Day is "Counting" and celebrates the achievements of remarkable people through poetry. 


Here are some ways you and your class can celebrate National Poetry Day: 

  • Share your favorite poems, lines, or verses on social media using the hashtag #NationalPoetryDay 

  • Engage in conversations about poetry using relevant hashtags 

  • Send a poem to a friend or loved one
