Thanks to Michael Rosen we have an excellent poem called Acorn, Conker, Key to start off a lesson to support the Year 3 objective of 'explore the part that flowers play in the life cycle of flowering plants, including pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal'. If you are a Year 3 teacher then note that this objective is best taught throughout the year through hands-on exploration outside, so plan to look at seed dispersal in the Autumn term, pollination in the Spring term when the blossoms appear and seed formation in the Summer term as the seeds and fruits start to appear.
