Why not make your Big Schools’ Birdwatch count towards an RSPB Wild Challenge Award? This free scheme encourages pupils to discover more wildlife and help the nature in your school grounds.

The annual RSPB bird watch and the Wild Challenge for schools are great projects to bring the whole school together to work on the biology strand of the science curriculum . Whatever year group you teach, every class in someway or another can link their science to the content of these activities. Take a look at the resources on offer and have a quick staff meeting to share the ideas that link to the relevant content for each year group.

This is a great way to develop WS data collection skills - remember to upload your results to the RSPB website to help the scientists understand the trends.
