Most children like chocolate but do they know where it comes from ?

Pass round some cacao nibs available in most supermarkets baking shelves (beware allergies) Get the children to smell it, feel it taste it. Do they know what it is? Where it comes from? What plant it comes from? How we use it? When they might have eaten it? Next, show them an Easter egg and ask them to do some research to show you how, what they have in their hands, ends up looking like an easter egg. They can present their findings in a comic strip or a role play using scientific vocab to explain the changes it goes through. Fits in with changing materials and plants topics.
