Want to spot the signs of mental health illness in your pupils?

According to the NHS data there were 349,449 people in contact with children and young people’s mental health services, at the end of October 2021. The increase in people seeking help to support their children’s mental health is staggering. The data shows the increase is four-fold. And these are the ones that are being reported. To help children have the best chance of recovery we need to spot the early signs of mental health issues.

Is there a Mental Health First Aider or a Mental Health Champion in your school? If not why not? These accredited worldwide recognised qualifications help school staff to identify the early warning signs of mental health issues in the children they teach and give them tools to guide them through how to seek support for children in their care.
